Negative Bagging Video

In this video Susan is working a rolled on paint/glaze mixture with a plastic bag.  The lighter glaze has been rolled on with a hot dog roller then worked with the bag to create the effect the homeowner was looking for.

Many times I have started to faux on a "focal" wall.  This is a mistake!  It usually takes some time to get into your "groove" when fauxing and if I am going to make a mistake I prefer to do it on a wall that is less prominent.

If you look closely you can see the entranceway to the kitchen.  The homeowner would enter the living room from the kitchen.  The TV and the fireplace are on the wall directly across from the wall Susan is working on.  Obviously this is not the wall to start on as the couch faces that wall.

The only time they would see where we started is when they are leaving the room!  If you listen carefully you can hear Susan say that she has too much glaze.  This wasn't rehearsed!

Even experienced faux finishers need time to warm up!
