An alternative to blue tape!

In a recent article i mentioned the importance of taping off areas you dont want your faux to go!

Here is an alternative that I learned for another faux finisher to save you time and money on blue tape.

Polystyrene

I take a small and manageable piece of polystyrene to put up against corners, ceilings and trim lines to keep my glazing mixture off of these areas.  You can purchase this at your local plastic supply company.

Polystyrene vs. blue tape

The polystyrene has two advantages:

1) it is much less expensive than blue tape

2) it is quicker!  Taping off an entire room could take a 1/2 hour or more.

This decision is a matter of preference.  I have jobs that i tape and others that i use the poly.  If you chose to
go the poly route make sure you clean the plastic often!

Please let me know what works for you!
